Out of my mind!

With so much going on in my life these recent weeks, I've been struggling to get on here and write. I want to do research and bring interesting art related work to you. Until life slows down for us I am having to refer you to other forms of writing. So, I introduce you to my sister and artist, HippyChick. Please enjoy her two blogs I've given the links for here, and here. Soon, I will be back and good as new, hopefully bringing you inspiring things to assist you and enlighten you on Painting and Drawing!

Blessings to you all!

Musings

For the past two days I worked my part-time job at the local coffee shop here in Dade City. I'm exhausted and have had a hard time getting online and especially getting on cafemom. I haven't had a lot of time to put in much energy for painting and drawing, but I have been noticing art around me more.
For instance, in the coffee cafe we have art that appears to be from local artist. I haven't asked the owner yet where they came from. One piece in particular catches my eye. The colors
stand out because they are more vibrant than most, but not overpowering. It is a womans face but it has a Picasso feel to it. No straight lines, lots of waves. What impresses me most about the painting is the color "running" beneath the eyes of the woman. It gives the look of mascara running down beneath your eyes after you are crying. The artist did not use black for this effect. They used Green and it has slanted lines through it. If I ever get a better camera I will post a picture of it.

I'd love for everyone who reads this to leave me a comment letting me know what your favorite artist style is. What's your favorite picture? Do you visit and explore art museums? Who is your favorite artist, local or otherwise? I want to hear from you!

Here's to art!

In the works

I was thinking today of the things I've painted and the collections of paintings I own. They are nothing spectacular. Nope, no Monet's or Van Gogh's in this house. Just simple local artistry. Here is one piece I have that is my favorite.

She was done by a local artist in Miami. I acquired this piece from my sister-in-law when she moved back home. I fell in love with the colors and they went really well with the celery green paint I had in my home at the time. I am hoping to bring this piece back to life again as soon as I get this home painted.

I have my own paintings in the works. One in particular, I miss working on, is a silhouette of a city scape. I am going to have the city buildings on one side and a forest of trees on the other. I am hoping it will show the contrast of two different life styles and maybe a possibility of blending. It will symbolize the vast differences in people and cultures and the ability to blend them.

Until next time, don't be afraid to be creative. What may look bad to you may be a work of art to someone else, so be messy, be precise, be whatever you feel like!

My new Blog!

I've recently joined a group on cafemom centered around Christ. I am attempting to become a "creative advisor" for painting and drawing. Although, I do not consider myself an accomplished artist, I do seem to have a flare for painting and drawing once I've put my mind to it and have the time.

I'm still fairly clueless on what my "job" as this painting/drawing creative advisor entails, so, I'm taking it all in stride and trying to gather more info on it each day through our group CCM ( Creative Christian Moms).

Many blessings to all who pass by on your blogger reading journeys and pray my mind opens up soon to receive the wisdom, knowledge, and understanding for this adventure I've embarked upon!
